Carissa Bonnema

Carissa Bonnema is a Master of Social Work intern and Addictions Counselor Trainee. She is a compassionate, client-centered therapist who believes everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. She places a strong emphasis on building genuine, trusting relationships and creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Carissa has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing grief and loss, while also working with those navigating anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and other mental health concerns.

In addition to therapy, Carissa provides case management services to help clients navigate

practical needs, connect with resources, and access supports that align with their goals.

Due to her status as an intern, Carissa practices under clinical supervision. She can accept

Medicaid for clients who meet criteria for a substance use disorder. Other clients may be seen

for a small per-session fee.
